The Cart Shed was founded nearly 8 years ago almost as a dare. It has seen a couple of changes in decor since it first opened due to fire and Covid. What has not changed since the beginning is our commitment to using the best of locally farmed & wild food much of which is produced here on the farm if we can. The kitchen is mostly wood fired & thus extremely sustainable as all our wood comes from sustainably managed woodland in England keeping our carbon footprint more a tip toe through the world as we try to do our bit.


 William has been the head chef since the beginning, his love of wild food and wild places has very much shaped the menus since the get go. After being closed for the last year we have decided to re open for just one day a week. We will be open every Saturday form 6:30pm. If you would like to discuss a privet party on other days of the week please drop us a line.

Our motto "Your home at The Cart Shed" this means exactly that when you arrive its completely relaxed take a seat and our team will talk you through tonight's menu.


Because we change the menu every week its not huge typically 3 starters, 3 mains & 3 desert options plus our usual dry aged steak & venison grill menu. You will find an example menu on the website we try and keep these up to date William writes the menu on Friday / Saturday morning so it is usually correct at that time.


We do not specifically cater for vegan diners so please let us know when you sit down or in advance, William our Chef Patron will come & discuss your needs & we will do our best to come up with something yummy.
